Zodiac

God gave us stars to teach us loneliness,
Not make our fate.
By choice, and not by destiny, we love.

Our separate souls alone decide
A solitary way.

But lest we never crave caresses,
Far stars, vastly parted, faintly tinted,
Hint,
But never say—
"Find, combine, and intertwine."

We are not thrust together,
But the design:
That two choices one decision make.

Find freedom in your lonely choice,
And let no union be
Abruptly forced upon you by cruel beasts above.
